['straɪsənd], Barbra Joan, amerikanische Schauspielerin, Regisseurin und Sängerin, * New York 24. 4. 1942; Star der Bühne, des Fernsehens und des Films (seit 1968). Streisand trat ab 1962 in Musicals hervor, besonders in »Funny Girl« (1964, verfilmt 1968); im Film überzeugte sie als Komikerin, durch Nuancenreichtum und Selbstironie. Ihre Intensität als Popsängerin mit Jazzphrasierung beweist sie v. a. mit getragenen, balladenhaften Titeln.
